February 2021 - President’s Message
A message from Gord Kruger, Evergreen Club president
Greetings once more my friends.....It's becoming difficult to continue to compose these monthly reports when there seems to be little of good news if any, to pass along. Unfortunately the menace continues and it's sometime difficult to see that there will be an end to all of this and life at the Evergreen will get back to some kind of normality.....whatever that may turn out to be. But rest assured that it will happen and hopefully sooner than later because if we don't have hope, what have we got?
Janet and her team continue to work diligently on a reopening and a lot of planning has gone into a beginning of that.......limited access with small groups will be part of this with activities increased as restrictions and health orders allow. Planning for all of that is in place and what we really need now is for Covid cases to start to drop. Unfortunately that is the biggest problem at this time because of the vaccination process not working out quite as well as it should. But we have been reassured by those that carry out the process of distribution and needle action on our behalf that this will get better, and again the HOPE factor plays its part.
As Janet mentioned in the January newsletter, creating safety plans that will meet all requirements and expectation so the Public Health system is an arduous task at best but rest assured that she is doing that on an ongoing basis and is prepared for whatever comes......and as she said, she is prepared to shout the news from rooftops when word comes through that the Florence Filberg Centre will reopen. You may also have noticed in Janet's January notes that the crew has got some great and interesting ideas for activities in 2021. Could be a most exciting and interesting year when it finally happens....and it WILL happen.
So with that in mind I'll slip away and once again say that better days are before us and there will soon be better times......because if you don't have "HOPE"...what have you got...... ADIOS for now and wishing you all well......"STAY SAFE".....gk
