June 2022 - President’s Message
A message from Gord Kruger, Evergreen Club president
Greeting's once again to all... It seems that summer has forgotten us.....continued cooler weather and showers have been the norm and that is somewhat different than the the summer of '21 .... so far!!!.. hopefully things will pick up. The weather however has not dimmed the activity level at the Evergreen. As Janet mentioned in her her message last month...activities are pretty much back to normal. Happier times are with us and as Janet said "The Happy Hustle And Bustle" is definitely back and you have helped make it a SAFER PLACE to play, with your cooperation and adherence to the rules in play during the Covid period. I have recently had my second booster and although I know there are no guarantees in this COVID war I certainly feel somewhat more comfortable having had it than not. Hopefully you have all been able to get yours.
Since we are now in full forward mode it is time to make up for something we have not been able to do for a while.....RECOGNIZE OUR VOLUNTEERS. We want to recognize all those folks who have willingly given their precious time to our club. Our girl Cathy has put together a special day for those amongst us who have chosen to provide the help and leadership that is needed to make our great little club function as well as it does. Wednesday June 8th is being recognized as "VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DAY". All volunteers from 2021 and 2022 are invited to attend. This event will be held in the Conference Hall at 1pm (doors open at 12:30) We do ask that you RSVP to Cathy by Friday June 3rd via E-mail or on the sign up sheet outside of her office. Please join us as it is our way of saying THANKS for your time and efforts.....it will be a fun afternoon as Cathy is quite a creative gal.
And in the interests of continuity, drop by and talk to Cathy if you have an interest in being a volunteer. We are always looking for you. Volunteering is all about meeting new people and having fun.
An upcoming trip that I'm sure will be fun is the Cirque Du Soleil event "OVO" in Victoria. It is another high energy and high acrobatic event that is not to be missed. This goes on Saturday June 18th and is an all day happening. Full details are available in the newsletter.
I think that's a wrap my friends.....but one quick question before I go.....did you ever get up in the morning, look in the mirror and say, "That Can't Be Accurate".
ADIOS AMIGOS.....gk
