President’s Message - November 2025
A message from Gord Kruger, Evergreen Club president
Greetings all!!... Here it comes... wet and windy... and we have before us, November. This is the time of drab, dull and shorter days and it's also the "month of remembrance" when we honour those who gave their lives so that the world could become a better place... may they forever rest in peace.
At the Evergreen Club, it is the season for membership renewal. If membership renewals are bought between now and December 20th you will be rewarded with a $5 discount. For those that have an interest in joining the club and who have not paid the membership fee as of yet... then the $40 membership fee will cover the remainder of 2025 and all of 2026. It's a deal!!!
Before October exits, I want to remind you of the Members’ Halloween Party. On Friday, October 31st the party will be held in the Evergreen Lounge. There will be treats, music provided by Greg and costume prizes. So dig out your best Halloween attire and join the party... and it's all free! Other events that follow in November include two matinée shows of “The Hurdy Gurdy Inn" on Sunday, November 2nd and Monday, November 3rd at 1:30 pm in the Conference Hall right here at the Florence Filberg Centre.
It is presented by the Evergreen Club’s “Second Stage Players” Drama Club. Friday, November 7th, we host our Pub Night and will once again feature live music with Ruckus. On Wednesday November 19th, our Speaker Series will return with a guest speaker from Elder College. On Sunday, November 30th the Comox Valley Concert Band will be in the Conference Hall with Songs of Celebration... Music to Encourage and Inspire.
A few trips coming up include the Christmas Craft Fair Crawl on Sunday, November 23rd, a Mystery Trip on Thursday, November 27th and a trip to Chemainus Theater for Elf: The Musical on Wednesday, December 3rd.
The Evergreen Club will again be hosting a New Years Eve Dance Party. The theme will be Glitz and Glam and the music will be provided by The Amigos. Watch for more details in the December newsletter.
